Hey there, I’m Analisha!
I created this site to help me tackle the hellscape that is writing comedy. Because contrary to popular belief, being funny doesn’t come naturally. It’s freaking hard work, OKAY! In fact, I often ask myself “why am I still doing this?” I don’t know the answer to this question and neither does my therapist.
But what I do know is this: the only thing harder than writing jokes is writing jokes with nothing to go off of.
So I developed this joke-prompter to help make writing jokes a little easier, and frankly more enjoyable. Because if there is anything I’ve learned from seeking the guttural approval of a room full of apathetic teenagers in a suburban Chilli’s it’s: how to be resourceful AF. And that “fiesta fries” are the perfect chaser for swallowing my dignity.
I hope this site is as helpful for you as it has been for me. It’s about damn time comedians had a tool for efficiency other than “just be funny.”
Shout-outs and sources:
Shout out to Joe Meyer for helping me figure out how to code this freaking thing.
And to my barely legible class notes from the Lincoln Lodge’s Feminine Comique class taught by comedy goddess Alex Kumin, and the Bible. The Comedy Bible by Judy Carter that is. If you want to learn more about writing comedy I highly recommend both of those.
